Things you don't learn in school

This is a picture of Kyle's gtube. He has had a gtube for 8 years now. In the beginning we had to go to the hospital for anesethia to get it changed. It was nerve wracking for all involved. And a major health hurdle. Today it needed replaced today and Kyle did it himself! He pulled the other one out. Then he put lube on the new one. Then he inserted it into his own tummy and sat still while I filled the balloon inside his stomach wall to hold it in place. I am so proud of him and his maturity that I cried! He will never test as "smart" but what he demonstrated today is far more priceless to me. I wanted to share this beautiful moment with you all because you've had glimpses into our life and have an idea of the impact things like this have. It was a truly remarkable experience. Kyle is such a beautiful and precious boy. Despite his broken and scared body and limited abilities, I truly treasure him.
